PRESIDENT/CEO
Stephen Reid, a native Pomeroy, Co.Tyrone , Ireland and stems from a family deeply rooted in the steel fabrication and erection industry, going back may generations. Shortly after graduating in the year 2000 From Queens University Belfast with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Stephen emigrated to New York. From 2001 to 2005 Stephen began working with a well renowned NYC steel fabricator and erector, quickly moving up the ranks to Senior Foreman overseeing Union Ironworker crews on all aspects of installation process.
In 2005 Stephen Co-founded United Structural Works Inc., located in Congers NY, acting as Vice President also took on many roles including purchasing, fabrication and Quality control and was a fundamental component in the design and development of USW’s initial fabrication shop expansion in 2010 and again during its second expansion in 2018. In 2019 after the sudden passing of his longtime friend and business partner Stephen took on the role of President/CEO and continues to improve and streamline USW’s fabrication process in order to provide his clients with a high quality product within stringent timelines , guaranteeing USW’s commitment to excellent.
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Brian Sweeney joined USW in 2010, spending time in all departments of USW’s Operations including Estimating, Drafting and Engineering and finally, Project Management. Brian has successfully managed numerous high profile, complex, projects over the years including, Pier 57 Redevelopment, Fulton Market Renovation and United Nations Re-configuration. Brian was appointed Director of Operations in 2018 and continues to refine the services USW provides its clients. Brian is a graduate of Edinburgh Napier University, initially with a Bachelors Degree in Civil & Transportation Engineering before going on to complete his Masters in Construction Project Management.
DRAFTING MANAGER
Danny has been working for USW since 2008, starting as a drafter and has been the drafting manager since 2011. He has over 20 years of experience in Steel Detailing/Drafting with expansive knowledge in the steel construction industry. He’s worked on all types of commercial buildings, stadiums, bridges, churches, schools, subways, etc. Danny is very detailed oriented, highly motivated, very knowledgeable and has outstanding management skills.
CHIEF ESTIMATOR
Ted graduated from the Steven’s Institute of Technology with his Bachelor’s in Engineering and from Long Island University with his Master’s in Business Administration. Ted started his career at the age of 21 working with Newburgh Steel and now has over 42 years of Structural and Miscellaneous Steel experience. Ted has been with USW for 9 years now and has worked his way up to Chief Estimator. His day-to-day functions include preparing and packaging all change orders for all USW projects, review new bids that are submitted and estimates some of the larger projects.
CONTROLLER
Mariluz Moe is a Controller with over thirty-five years of financial management experience with 30 years in a construction environment. Outstanding knowledge of GAAP, Liaison with Financial Institutions, Insurance Companies, CPA firms & External Auditors. Restructured/Implemented Financial Operations of Organizations as well as Conversions from several different client software to Sage 300. Dedicated to increasing productivity through implementing accounting best practices. Manage annual budgets, monthly financial reports and audits at companies with up to 400 employees. Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicates monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements. Prepare/Reviews all FS information to assist external CPA in mid-year and year-end FS.
