USW were engaged in this Design-Build project for MetLife Headquarters renovation in which USW designed, fabricated and installed the steel structure in multi-trade collaboration to produce a Feature Spiral Stairs. The curved stair had to be designed with no supports underneath and in order to achieve this a box stringer made out of 4 – 1.5 inch steel plates were welded together keeping the curvature of the stair and vertical rise in tack.
